The extremely riveting History of the Happy Ending Music and Reading Series

In 2003, Amanda Stern, author of the novel, The Long Haul, founded The Happy Ending Music and Reading Series, which she continues to curate and host. Voted BEST SERIES by New York Magazine, Time Out NY and NY Press, HERS has become one of the most popular literary events in NYC. In September 2006, Stern was featured in the New York Times Magazine as a "New Bohemian helping to keep downtown New York alive." In 2006 she hosted the National Book Awards debut "5 Under 35" ceremony and in 2007, the launch event for PEN American Center's "PENultimate Lit" Series. The Happy Ending Series is the first Wednesday of every month at Joe's Pub in NYC.
